Created using the printmaking technique of silk-screen on white sheets of paper, Blank Sheet of Paper, a series of prints, is inspired by a silent protest conducted by ordinary people against Thailand’s 13th military coup, starting on May 22, 2014. One of the strategies the protesters used was to hold a blank sheet of A4 paper without any message. This work questions the impacts of censorship on issues of human rights, equality, and freedom of expression, as well as space and place, and the potential for the creation of art when these protest strategies are brought into a political context in the public realm.
