The overall project, Art within One Mile, has a total of 95 signs at 5 sites on the route from Central Park to Brooklyn Bridge. 15 signs for maps and 80 signs for 46 temporary and permanent public artworks within one mile from 5 different locations. The project uses the numerical system to calculate the precise direction and distance drawn from GPS coordinates between the original artwork and the signage.

Art within One Mile
is a site-specific project inviting the public on guided journeys to discover NYC’s public artworks, and questioning how a journey within a specific geography can be a work of art in itself.  The 46 public artworks in this project include temporary and permanent sculptures within a one-mile radius, and public art events coinciding with the duration of the installation in August, 2013.  Each artwork is indicated with signage at five rest stops between Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge. Using the numerical system and GPS coordinates, the signs present precise directions and distances between the original artwork and the signs.
